Playful Peonies

IMG_1689.JPG

What looks good in print? I’m thinking about having some of my designs printed on fabric. These are some of the more impressionistic florals I’ve been playing around with, and they reminded me of a design textile. Has anyone done this before? I’ll be in research mode for the next few days.

Have a great weekend friends!

  1. Hi Alisa, I don’t know how far your research has gotten you, but you could try playing around on Spoonflower and PickMonkey. Good luck… Oh and a book you might want to get from the library is “the complete guide to designing and printing fabric” from Laurie Wisbrun in case you haven’t found that yourself yet.

    1. Thank you for the great tips, Renate! I will definitely check out the book. I do use PicMonkey on occasion, and never thought to use it for pattern repetitions and such. Thanks! I appreciate the advice πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! And yes, please send the site my way. I have been looking at two different printers but would like more options for sure. Thanks a bunch! Not before your vacation is over though haha- no work! πŸ˜‰

  2. I had a few of my designs printed on fabric back in my interior design days, but all my contacts for that are in California πŸ™‚ It really is a simple process, and yields surprisingly beautiful results! Good luck with it- I love the peonies, and think they would make a beautiful fabric! If you get some made up, let me know and I will make a little dress for my Ruby out of it πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! For sure, I will let you know if I have it printed. Yes, It would look adorable on your little Ruby as a dress! I would love to see some of your past designs if you ever feel like sharing. Interior design sounds like so much fun!
